HIGHLIGHTS OF INDOCHINA – 14 DAYS

DAYS 1-2: SAIGON, VIETNAM

On arrival in Saigon, transfer to your hotel. Get to know your tour leader and travelling companions during an evening tour briefing and welcome drinks. DAYS 5-7: HALONG BAY & HANOI

Take an early morning flight to Haiphong. Relax on the scenic drive to magical Halong Bay for an overnight cruise on a comfortable, private boat. Feast on the fresh seafood while cruising among the thousands of limestone islands. Continue on to Hanoi, and join a walking tour into the heart of the Old Quarter. Try some of Vietnam’s unique fresh beer ‘bia hoi’ at one of Hanoi’s local bia hoi establishments. A city tour includes Ho Chi Minh Quarter, the ancient Temple of Literature and ‘Hanoi Hilton’ prison.

DAYS 8-10: LUANG PRABANG, LAOS

Fly to the beguiling World Heritage town of Luang Prabang in Laos, home to gilded temples and charming French-colonial architecture, set along the magical Mekong. Visit the Royal Palace and Wat Mai temple, and take part in a fascinating bamboo weaving experience. End the day by helping to make your own traditional dinner, in a pavilion overlooking verdant rice terraces. Take a morning walk through temple grounds and character-filled streets, then cruise along the Mekong to the Buddha-filled Pak Ou Caves. Rise early to witness the ancient ritual of local monks collecting alms. Explore a morning market and visit the beautiful Kuang Si Falls. At sunset, play a game of petanque, a memorable way to end your time in mystical Luang Prabang.

DAYS 11-14: SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA

Fly to Siem Reap and transfer to your hotel. Begin your adventure with an expedition to the remote, overgrown ruins of Boeng Mealea, before visiting a landmine museum and palm sugar village. Discover the mysterious temples of Angkor as you walk through the temple complex in the pre-dawn light to witness the sun rise over Angkor Wat. Discover the stone faces of Bayon and the jungle-covered Ta Prohm, before a boat cruise on Tonle Sap Lake. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
